Suppose: A James 2:15 Initiative

15 Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, 16 and you say, “Good-bye
and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or
clothing. What good does that do? James 2:15-16 NLT
“Suppose you see” – We have seen, we all have. There are people on every street corner, some months more than others, but these days one would be hard pressed not to see the desperate needs right in our own community, right here in the west end of Edmonton. SUPPOSE is a ministry of compassion for those who have seen, and can’t unsee, the hurt all around them. It’s a ministry to those who have so little from those who have so, so much more than just food and clothing to give.
We go out to the street once a month, currently on the second Saturday of each month, with hot drinks, food, clothing and blankets and we talk with the people we meet. We listen to their stories; we offer hope and encouragement where we can. We pray with and for them. We share the gospel when we can, but our foundational mandate is to live the gospel by loving and helping each one where they are.
